A Bit About Me
My interest in art and objects began early, growing up attending farm auctions with my grandfather. Those experiences fostered an appreciation for material culture, craftsmanship, and the stories embedded in everyday and exceptional objects alike. Over time, this early exposure developed into a deeper curiosity about how value is understood, interpreted, and documented.
Several years spent living in Germany further shaped this path. Frequent visits to museums and galleries deepened my engagement with fine art and historical works, while also sharpening an awareness of the cultural and market contexts in which art exists. This perspective was further refined through formal training in criticism and curatorial studies at OCAD University, where I developed a rigorous approach to research, visual analysis, and contextual evaluation. Prior to establishing my appraisal practice, I ran a vintage and antiques business, sourcing and selling objects internationally through my own Etsy shop. That hands-on experience—researching, cataloguing, and navigating the market—continues to inform my work as an appraiser today.
My appraisal practice is grounded in careful research, independence, and clarity. Each assignment is approached with the aim of producing well-supported, defensible valuations, while fostering thoughtful connections between people and the objects they value
