Insurance and Damage Claims
Insurance and damage claim appraisals provide an independent assessment of the value of fine art before or after a loss. These appraisals are used to support insurance coverage, substantiate claims, and ensure fair settlement following damage, theft, or destruction.
All reports are research-driven, objective, and compliant with 2024 USPAP standards. These appraisals are suitable for submission to insurance providers, claims adjusters, legal counsel, and conservators, and are written to be clear, defensible, and objective.

Estate Appraisals
Estate appraisals provide an independent assessment of the fair market value of fine art for estate planning, probate, and tax reporting purposes. These appraisals assist executors, trustees, and legal advisors in accurately documenting artworks as of the required valuation date, in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations.

Each appraisal is supported by thorough market research and prepared in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Reports are suitable for submission to courts and tax authorities in both Canada and the United States, and are written to be clear, defensible, and handled with discretion, recognizing the sensitive nature of estate matters.

Charitable Donation Appraisals
Charitable donation appraisals provide an independent assessment of the fair market value of artworks donated to public institutions and registered charities in Canada. These appraisals are prepared to support tax receipting and compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requirements.

When a donation is intended for certification by the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board (CCPERB), the appraisal must meet specific standards regarding methodology, documentation, and market evidence. Reports are prepared with careful attention to these requirements, including thorough research, transparent reasoning, and clear support for the concluded value. Each appraisal is designed to withstand review by the Board and to support the certification process for objects of cultural property significance.

Collections Management

Support may include developing and maintaining accurate inventories, advising on documentation and condition considerations, coordinating conservation or specialist referrals, and reviewing insurance coverage and valuation needs. Collections management can also assist with strategic planning, including acquisitions, dispersals, or future transitions of a collection. All work is approached with discretion, independence, and a focus on preserving both the integrity and value of the artworks over time.

Desktop Valuations
Not located in Eastern Ontario? No problem. Desktop valuations offer a streamlined, remote evaluation for single works of art and are ideal when a formal appraisal report is not required.

Based on images and information provided by the client, desktop valuations deliver an informed opinion of value grounded in current market research. While less detailed than full appraisal reports, these evaluations provide practical guidance for collectors seeking a general understanding of value for planning, reference, or informal decision-making.

Desktop valuations are conducted entirely remotely and are best suited to straightforward, single-item inquiries where an indicative value is sufficient.
